PETE’S NEW FRIENDS. Day 22: Alan Bradley. Having experienced Katmandu, the hippie trail and Afghanistan before decades of war tore it apart, Alan returned to the US and began farming Arugula. On a mid-eighties trip to Peru, he ate quinoa. Returning to Gainesville, FL, he preached about the seed that he was positive would be the next superfood. He was 20 years ahead of himself and everybody else. Dejected and broke, Alan Bradley moved to Fargo, ND and started a hydroponic strawberry growing operation.
